Position Overview

The Electronic Technician produces electronic parts and sub-assemblies and inspects customers’ equipment on arrival to identify any faults and to carry out repair and calibration. They assist with day-to-day manufacturing activities, including soldering of components, crimping wires, printed circuit board assembly, cable assembly and final assembly of the Company’s existing products.

In this role you will have to:

  • Produce electronic parts and sub-assemblies
  • Test sub-assemblies and parts using electronic test equipment such as scopes and multi-meters
  • Final assembly of systems
  • Communicate updates to existing build instructions for latest specification and revision control
  • Perform calibration, final test and documentation and packing of new and returned products
  • Repair electronic systems to component level
  • Use drawings, schematics, electronic assembly equipment and verbal/written instructions to assemble, modify, rework or re-assemble units
  • Carry out tasks that are repetitive in nature with the ability to recognise non-conformity
  • Work with the production engineering and the development team to improve product and manufacturing methods
  • Work with the Production Team to achieve Production Targets and KPI’s
  • Involvement in annual stocktakes
  • Ensure that the Company Quality Policy and Procedures are applied and adhered to
  • Ensure that the Company Health & Safety Policy and Procedures are applied and adhered to
  • Perform any other tasks when requested by manager.

Requirements

  • 3 years’ experience of working in an Electronic Manufacturing environment
  • GCSE’s Grade C in Mathematics, Science and English, or equivalent
  • BTEC HNC/HND or higher in Electronic discipline

The profil sought

  • Ability to solder to a high level and knowledge of IPC-A-610
  • Familiar with Lean 5s
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good oral and written communication
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels
  • Ability to work well as part of a small team
  • Must be able to work well individually with limited supervision also

  • Ability to problem solve under pressure and think outside of the box
